Praise of the Shadow

The University Library building, located in the heart of the University of Guyana (PUG), must have a unifying role within the University and participate in its regional influence. It is a structuring equipment for all the buildings that make up the PUG: its vocation is to gather books and readers in a unique place dedicated to knowledge, an open and generous place within the university. The aim is to provide a cultural and documentary quality service but also to materialize the image of the community.
One of the main challenges is to give a physical, social and symbolic identity to the building of the university library that will have an impact on the neighborhood and the city.
By its program and its central location, our ambition is to give an architecture of its own to this unique building - identifiable in its volumetry and its uses - associated with an opening on the whole University.
