Structural case

EXTENSION OF MARTINIQUE PREFECTURE

Our project has the particularity to offer a unique façade principle with multiple functions: it is a filter facade or a "fishnet" that protects from the sun and opens the building to the city and it is also a structural mesh of high performance concrete - "Ductal" - which braces the building and makes it seismic.
Two characteristics allow to create a link with the preserved Governor's Palace: a white chromatic unit and the reinterpretation of the cross motif of the palace's attic as a principle of the façade 's composition.
The two buildings created are perceived as unified and solid, perennial and delicate, they constitute the prolongation of the Governor's Palace
