Black Box

INDIVIDUAL HOUSE

The order is simple: build an extra room because the house is too small for the whole family. The environment is made up of old farmhouses of the early 19th century, surrounded by vegetation, with rocks rising out of the ground and a river below.
We imagined an autonomous room with the simplest geometric form which slips between the rocks. It is a volume that constitutes a platform which serves two terraces: oriented South for the morning and West for the evening.
To bring out the richness of the surrounding nature, the wood cladding was burnt with a hand-blown torch, which gives it a great resistance but also a random black color, with iridescence effects on the whole volume, which vary throughout the day.
